The Zoe Project desires to practically embody Jesus’ mission expressed in John 10:10 where Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” The Zoe Project desires to educate, involve, and empower the local Church to live this mission of Jesus in a practical way. We call this Life ministry (“zoe” is the Greek word for “life”).
We want to offer, build, support, and fight for Life in every aspect. We believe that any attack on life, be it homelessness, labor exploitation, sex trafficking, orphanhood, abortion, or crime, is a call to action for the Church–a call to live and give the abundant life that Jesus desires. The Zoe Project understands that Jesus is the leader in all works of justice and compassion.
The Zoe Project offers people local and global opportunities to serve in various areas of Life ministry. These ministries cover a wide variety of ministries at Liberty including:
We work with Sunshine Ministries in our outreach to homeless men in the Greater St. Louis Area by serving meals, running worship services and mingling with the homeless at the shelter.
We believe that all of life is precious including unborn children. We have partnered with Thrive, a pro-life women’s healthcare organization, to volunteer at their locations by helping and ministering to ladies who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy.
We minister at the Garden View Care Center in O’Fallon on the second Friday of each month. We enjoy talking with the residents and either play a game, assist in activities, or make a craft with them. We encourage mothers to bring their children with them as the elderly love to see young children.
Our goal is to share the love of Christ with the residents and the staff as we talk with them and spend time with them. The stories we get to hear as well as the joy we receive in visiting with these men and women is truly incredible.
